The hotel is cozy with a toasty warm atmosphere all the time. The rooms, though a bit old and dated with minor maintenance issues, offer a variety of drinks and delightful shortbread treats. The highlight is the very comfy bed for a good night's sleep.

My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The rooms in the basement were surprisingly spacious, and the check-in was convenient, just a short walk from the center of Edinburgh and close to the vibrant Stockbridge area with plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops around. The location made it easy to reach the town center. However, being in the basement might not appeal to everyone.

The hotel is ideally located in the new town, not far from the center of Edinburgh, providing easy access to downtown either by a 15-minute walk or a quick 5-minute bus ride. It's also close to Stockbridge, the Botanics, Princes Street, and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
